Hegesiasaus dem Demos Sounion stellte den Antrag: Worüber die Akarnanenvortragen, Phormion und Karphinas, die jüngst eingetroffen sind, wolle beschließendas Volk: Da Phormion und Karphinas, von den Vorfahren herFreunde des Volkes der Athener, das Wohlwollen bewahren,das die Vorfahren ihnen anvertraut haben, gegenüber demVolk der Athener, und jetzt mit Truppen zur Hilfekommend, sich gemeinsam mit den Athenern mustern ließen, wie esder General befiehlt: dass man sie belobige wegen ihrer Leistungund bekränze einen jeden von ihnen mit goldenem Kranz;und da Phormion, den Großvater von Phormion und Karphias,das Volk der Athener zum Athener gemacht hatund dessen Enkel, und der Beschluss, durch den dieserAkt geschah, auf der Akropolis aufgeschrieben steht, dass fürPhormion und Karphinas und ihre Nachkommen dasPrivileg gültig sei, das das Volk ihrem Großvater Phormionverliehen hat; dass sie sich Phyle, Demos und Phratriewählen, sei es, welche sie wollen; dass man belobige auch dieanderen Akarnanen, die zusammen mit Phormionund Karphinas zu Hilfe gekommen sind; und dass ihnen, bis siezurückkehren, das Recht sei, die Häuser zu erwerben, die sie wollen, solange siein Athen wohnen, frei von der Metökensteuer, und dass sie (hier) Rechtgeben und nehmen wie die Athener, und die Sondersteuern,wenn solche anstehen, gemeinsam mit den Athenern zahlen,und dass ihrer sich annehme der jeweils amtierende Ratdie jeweils amtierenden Generäle, damitihnen kein Unrecht geschieht; dass diesen Beschluss aufeiner steinernen Stele aufzeichne der Sekretär des Rates und aufstelleauf der Akropolis; dass er aufzeichne auch die Namen der Akar-nanen auf dieselbe Stele und darunter die StädteAkarnaniens, aus denen ein jeder stammt; dass für dieAufzeichnung auf der Stele der Schatzmeister des Volkes demSekretär des Rates dreissig Drachmen gebe aus demDekret-Fonds desVolkes.im Kranz:für Phormiondas Volk.im Kranz:für Karphinasdas Volk.

Hegesippos son of Hegesiasof Sounion proposed: concerning what the Akarnanians say,Phormio and Karphinas, who have recently come, the Peopleshall decide: since Phormio and Karphinas, being ancestralfriends of the Athenian People, are maintaining thegood will, which their ancestors handed down, towards theAthenian People, and now having supportedin force, were mustered with the Athenians, as thegeneral commanded, to praise them for their excellenceand to crown each of them with a golden crown;and since the Athenian People made Phormio the grandfatherof Phormio and Karphinas an Athenian,and his descendants, and the decree by which thiswas enacted was inscribed on the acropolis,the grant which the People made to Phormio their grandfathershall be valid for Phormio and Karphinas and their descendants;and they shall choose the tribe and deme and phratryto which they wish to belong; and to praise also theother Akarnanians who gave support along with Phormioand Karphinas, and they shall have, until they return home,right of ownership of whatever houses they wish while they live at Athens,free of the metic tax, and shall bring and answerlawsuits like Athenians, and shall pay capital taxes,any that may be levied, with the Athenians;and the Council in office at any time shall take care of them,and the generals in office at any time, so that theysuffer no harm; and the secretary of the Council shall inscribethis decree on a stone stele and stand iton the acropolis, and shall inscribe also the names of theAkarnanians on the same stele, writing them under the citiesof Akarnania to which each belongs; and for inscribingthe stele the treasurer of the People shall give30 drachmas to the secretary of the Council from the People’sfund forexpenditureon decrees.In crown:Phormio.The People.In crown:Karphinas.The People.
